Starfish Christian Trust: Street children

Sponsor found for 9 Indian slavery orphans

The good news for 9 of the orphans that we helped to rescue from the slavery of the brick kilns is that sponsors have been found. Fourteen were rescued after their parents SOLD THEM into slavery following great hardship that came with Cyclone Phailin.

Because they were so desperate, many parents sold their children and disappeared. When Pastor Joshua heard of their plight he appealed to Starfish Christian Trust (formerly Woodland) to 'buy them back' out of slavery. This we did willingly.

We have been able to help with part of the cost but we wanted to try and support them fully and so sponsors were sought.

If you would like to sponsor one of the 5 remaining children, it is 20per month. This will fully enable the orphanage to be fully supported along with the 14 children.

The original appeal can be seen by following the 'read more' link below
