Sinai Chapel, Burundi reaches roof level 16th Feb

When we last saw progress on the building of Sinai Chapel in Gitega, Burundi, they had put in place substantial foundations and were beginning to build the walls. Having seen so much destruction in Gitega during the years of civil war it is good to see that rebuilding in a time of peace can be achieved.

Starfish Christian Trust recently sent out funds to enable the building work to continue. Pastor Joseph Ruvugana was anxious to reach the roof level and have it covered before the rains came in March.

We spoke to Pastor Joseph this week and he has advised us that the work of constructing the roof timbers and covering the building with iron sheet will progress this weekend and will hopefully be finished in a few days.

Thanks to a generous donation from a local church, we have funds to enable the continuation of the work. This includes strengthening the walls, laying a cement floor, putting in place doors and windows et cetera.

The work is continuing at a good pace. As always, we are grateful to supporters of Starfish Christian trust to enable this work to continue. There is still much to be done within the church and if you are able to help with this the details can be found on this website.
